Final post

I am a young man with a old mentality. With all honesty, I found this course to be very challenging but useful to me within my career in the future. reason being I am not like most young adults my age. I dont  get in front of a computer for  hours  a day. I dont check emails daily. I rather write and mail things or talk to the teacher in person at that present time. That way I know when I am miss information or receive something need.  A lot of things I learning from this class, I know can help me. such as, knowing the law, when it comes down to copyright. IT IS  A LAW. That me and others for sure dont see it as such. No one is perfect in all they do. So its easy for people to find a little help on the web. but if using someone else thoughts or work to created your own. GIVE THEM CREDIT!

here is a brief summary of my semester in this course. to began with, become a 21st century teacher is to want to be and effective leader in our educational system for our students. They must ensure that instructional needs, greatness of teachers, and the ultimate needs of students are considered. As beginning a 21st century teacher have to understand that we as a country is coming to a time where there is no longer open book in the classroom. technology is the key. so its a must that we think about the outcome in the classroom and the results from the students to be successful. which bring me to another chapter 8 that stood out to me, because its a home run when talking about the generation today . Communicating and collaborating with social media, has become  very popular in our economy. There are a host of different ways now to communicate with our media in the educational system. types that we well common use such as text message, email, discussion broads, websites, and even blogs. there are many more but theses are some common ones that are on top. social media is made up to connect with each other through web without actually being physically present. It helps people share photos and new information about personal life issues that might be be going one within and individuals life. therefore the media keeps everyone informed and created a strong campus, community, and city that stick close together. while we see social media has advance through out the years dramatically, whose is to tell if its good or bad for our society. it plays a big part because thats all our children seem to know verse my generation with broad games and playing cards.

Another topic was chapter 10.  chapter its disuses the success throughout technology with all students.  Teachers can use technology to create universally designed classrooms by utilizing varying technologies to apply to lessons.  Teachers can have multiple technology stations that each pertain to the ways that students learn in their unique way.
For and example Calculators have become an indispensable tool for utilization in the classroom setting.  All students must be proficient in the functions of varying types of calculators throughout their academic careers.  From your basic large button calculator to the most complicated of graphing and scientific calculators, students must be able to utilize these tools to assist in their success.  Technology has helped people with disabilities gain greater independence and integration in our society. Speech recognition systems, electronic communications, personal computers, robots, and artificial intelligence are transforming people's lives. The movement toward technology in our generation has its use of lighter materials, and higher-capacity information processing devices present even greater opportunities for this population in the future. As schools move to mainstream and provide full inclusion environments for persons with disabilities, it is important that teachers are aware of possibilities with advance technology. Chapter 6 began by describing the important technologies for managing digital content, including social bookmarking and cloud computing. All these section deals with how we use technology to teach students through technology.  The next section talked about organizing electronic resources to address curriculum standards. This section just talks about how to show you how to gather a collection of web resources, organized in a way that allows easy access for teaching.  Another section discussed the use of WebQuests, virtual field trips and videoconferencing as instructional technologies. Which are all three of the same but have different objectives. A webquest is online and is inquire by the student that are designed and guided by the teacher. which in person i had a lot of fun doing. even tho I  am  not good at technology that well, webquest was fun putting together from scratch making some by brainstorming new ideas that you think no one would come up with.

There were many more great lesson thought through out this course, but the lesson outcome was five things, and i believe all those outcomes where met. Communication: To communicate effectively using standard English. Critical Thinking: To demonstrate skills necessary for analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
Technology/Information Management : To demonstrate the skills and use the technology necessary to collect, verify, document, and organize information from a variety of sources.Global Socio-
‐‐cultural Responsibility: To identify, describe, and apply responsibilities, core civic beliefs, and values present in a diverse society. and lastly Scientific and Quantitative Reasoning: To identify and apply mathematical and scientific principles and methods. All theses concepts was thought very well and can be use to better myself as a teacher. this class showed me not only what it is to use technology, but how to use it the proper way. how to make it fun and entertaining, how to apply it to and everyday base of living life.  I really enjoyed this class this semester and look for to using some if not more of these techniques in the future.

Educational change in our schools  is interesting topic in Chapter 12. It refers to the innovations by teachers that create new patters of teaching and learning in school. Educational change does not just occur by adding a computer to the course. Two things must be present: a teacher mindset and multiple pathways. As a future educator for elementary , I can definitely see myself striving for educational change that's going to deal with technology from the students . I noticed that a lot of the material teachers use is recycled and taught the same exact way. I would try to push myself to new limits and be innovative in teaching the course. But  I believe that in doing this, my students will be more interested in the material and it would be fun to switch it up and integrate fresh ideas within the course.

Before we can discuss how to shift our role of the teacher in a classroom that is integrating technology, it is important to first define what "technology integration" actually means. Integration is when students are not only using technology daily, but have access to a variety of tools that match the task at hand and provide them the opportunity to build a deeper understanding of content. But how we define technology integration can also depend on the kinds of technology available, how much access one has to technology, and who is using the technology. For instance, in a classroom with only an interactive whiteboard and one computer, learning is likely to remain teachers, and integration will revolve around teacher needs, not necessarily student needs. Still, there are ways to implement even an interactive whiteboard to make it a tool for your students.
Willingness to embrace change is also a major requirement for successful technology integration. Technology is continuously, and rapidly, evolving. It is an ongoing process and demands continual learning.
Technology integration is the use of technology resources  computers, mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, digital cameras, social media platforms and networks, software applications, the Internet, etc. in daily classroom practices, and in the management of a school. Successful technology integration is achieved when the use of technology is:Routine and transparent
Accessible and readily available for the task at hand, Supporting the curricular goals, and helping the students to effectively reach their goals
When technology integration is at its best, a child or a teacher doesn't stop to think that he or she is using a technology tool it is second nature. And students are often more actively engaged in projects when technology tools are a seamless part of the learning process.
Inclusion and infusion in technology are big ones as well. Inclusion is using technology to transfer information to the student while infusion is an ongoing process within a child's education. Both methods are pretty good, but I think infusion would be what I would use. This feature allows students to regularly use computers for research and since students are going to need to know this in the future. say good bye manually an hello technology. Thats how we will be transformed, in the new world.

Chapter four focus on Designing lesson and developing curriculum with technology. which is and chapter that cover a lot of things when it brings in how to us technology within your lesson. when enhancing lessons that development with technology it includes many of things such as, academic content, teaching goals, methods, procedures, and learning assessments. this chapter also goes in and talks about the students and there earning objectives. how they can can tell who is going to do what, when, how much or how often a student need something or even how they will be measured  or elevated. that's apart of technology when your designing lesson plans for your students. you have to understand first by understanding and question on what your lesson is about. then determine acceptable evidence and strategies that might go along with the lesson. finally plan the learning experience and instructions through method and objective when adding technology to the lesson so that when teaching you understand and wont lose your students during your lesson
Photo from Dr.Meier
. learning assessments that develop in the curriculum are electronic test and quizzes , grade keeping software, digital portfolios, student respond system, and online server.  All these thing have a way of keeping our curriculum with technology and a open way of commutation with our students. when you are a student whose being tested on lesson from technology, there are two things to keep in mind norm referenced test which tell the teacher the students performance base on other students within there grade and age , and criterion referenced test which are based on the individual student. what they should know and be able to do at each grade level. performance evaluation are also something that students use. rubric are to evaluate there work on their course assignments and activities. developing lessons and curriculum within technology is not and easy task. but its what our society is moving forward to doing in the future with or education system.

Engaging students in performance assessment and reflective learning can relate and compare to a lot of things when dealing with our students. The role of assessment in teaching and learning is that every teacher in planning lessons and delivering instructions, evaluates students learning. In its simplest terms, a performance assessment is one which requires students to demonstrate that they have mastered specific skills and competencies by performing or producing something. It should be everyone teachers mission to engaging in our students education life to make sure they are well prepared for the world ahead. One of the ways in which students internalize the characteristics of quality work is by evaluating the work of their peers. However, if they are to offer helpful feedback, students must have a clear understanding of what they are to look for in their peers' work. The instructor must explain expectations clearly to them before they begin.

Students can become better language learners when they engage in deliberate thought about what they are learning and how they are learning it. In this kind of reflection, students step back from the learning process to think about their language learning strategies and their progress as language learners. Such self-assessment encourages students to become independent learners and can increase their motivation.  then last point I am going make it the element of teacher portfolios. Portfolios are purposeful, organized, systematic collections of student work that tell the story of a student's efforts, progress, and achievement in specific areas. The student participates in the selection of portfolio content, the development of guidelines for selection, and the definition of criteria for judging in and good way to help better the student. Portfolio assessment is a joint process for instructor and student. to know how they are doing and what they can improve. Portfolio assessment emphasizes evaluation of students' progress, processes, and performance over time. Involving students in their learning is the key. it helps motivate themselves to want to know more by it also show them that you care as their teacher, to take that extra time.

Virtual field trips take students to places all over the world without ever leaving the classroom. Like a trip in mid air. Last video conferencing allows you to actually talk to people and places that students are unable to visit themselves.   The rest of the chapter examined issues surrounding online learning, compared and contrasted different types of educational websites, and identified strategies for using educational websites interactively. In my experience   found that section on online learning are interesting to read.  Since I have experienced online learning I have taken a small handful of Florida south western class’s online just to see the difference between the class room setting and online. The one major problem I had with online classes was that it was way too easy to forget to log onto Canvas and make sure that I was on track with homework assignments. With online classes, I could be working in Canvas and then suddenly feel the need to go on YouTube or Reddit to check if any interesting videos or stories were posted. Once this happens, three hours can disappear in three seconds and I’m likely to end up turning in the assignment late, or not at all. Perhaps the ideal balance is school attendance and online assignments. That the challenge students face, within the classroom trying to stay focus when there is so much out there to browse on the web. This chapter basically describes the importance for managing digital context with include social bookmaking cloud computing.

Expressing Creativity with multimedia technology. How can teachers create PowerPoint presentations for all the teaching educators for their potential and learning impact? "Media is the language of kids,"  Students who may have a difficult problem   learning by reading a textbook or listening to a lecture often reach for the chance to understand complex concepts by presenting finished products in the form of a film, Web documentary or a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.
I believe that In order to reach maximum teaching potential and learning impact, a teacher must think about the creation and presentation of the PowerPoint that they are putting together for their children to understand.
Doing a PowerPoint it gives teachers a chance to create interesting presentations, but on the other hand keeping the students attention and successfully explaining information is very important.
A teacher can do any class discussion by using images. Direct and detailed images are going to appeal to the students more so than trying to make them do and essay with a paragraph of words.
A teacher can also get visual analysis for the discussion topics. The images should create discussion and thoughts in the classroom to see if they understand the material. Then at the end you could
Display the questions to short writing prompts in the presentation. Allow the students to write a short essays to summarize the presentation and tell what he or she learn or even thought was good or bad about the lesson presented

The PowerPoint slides should be used to capture the attention of the students. The teacher is the one teaching the class. Teachers should make the slides interesting and appealing to the students in your classroom. Keep them simple and to the point.  Also, keep them engaged by asking questions and telling short stories that might go along with the lesson your teaching. And for fun you can create power points with games that way it helps them develop problem solving and learning skills.
Multimedia is a big part of the curriculum in schools today. In most classrooms, teachers use multimedia during their lessons every day. I do believe that multimedia is beneficial in our classrooms; but there are times where they can be a distraction as well.

They have to be used in the correct way in order to be successful in helping students learn new concepts. Statistics show that people learn more when being taught through more than one source of information. In this chapter, it is called multi-modal learning. When a teacher combines his/her lecture with the use of visuals and models, the students have a better chance of retaining the information.

PowerPoint is well-known software program that is used by many teachers and students throughout the world. PowerPoint is a simple way to present information, but teachers can spice it up by adding different affects and graphics. In order to make PowerPoint presentations and effective tool in education, the teacher must make it interactive and engaging. The teacher must get their point across without overwhelming the students with too much information.
I am an advocate for the use of video in the classroom. I believe it helps the students learn information in a different way. The students get bored with standard instruction, so using videos can be more interesting and enjoyable for them. The videos should stay at a shorter length so the students are staying focused.

As a technology, it is called multimedia. As a revolution, it is the sum of many revolutions wrapped into one: A revolution in communication that combines the audio visual power of television, the publishing power of the printing press, and the interactive power of the computer. Multimedia is the convergence of these different professions, once thought independent of one another, coming together to form a new technological approach to the way information and ideas are shared.

With our technology constantly changing who knows what will happen next. Cell phones will eventually be useful as well as many other present day communication devices. Pagers are a thing of the past and are no longer an essential part of our society. Hopefully, new and better things will come out that provide us with even more benefits that we have now.  This is and lot as teachers we have to face when it comes down to expressing technology in our world today. That’s what is revolving around now, without you can or even may be lost without it.

while the sites that are view daily by millions of people it also tend to have a influence on our youth behavior, attitudes, struggles in school, and effective communication. we have to know how to treat the media, like we would if it was and actually human. People who don't will never know the advantage on how unsafe the media really is. how someone who don't even know you can find out so much just throughout media . without out you even being aware.  Your communication is very essential, in health and social care setting, because people need`s need  to be meet and messages have to be clear for people to understand what you are trying to say. Although social media is the top form of communication even above cell phones, it has brought many risk. social media has changed a lot in affecting communication methods among people, social and psychological behavior. many people prefer face to face  and many think using social media can be an interference. social media has help and some think it don't.

This chapter exploring problems dealing with software’s, apps, and games has become more of and worldwide topic in today’s education system. Problem solving and its learning towards the education field has allowed students to use real world situations and issues to actively engage in their lesson. Now you might be thinking when I say problem solving it means trouble; not in this case. In this case we are viewing the different ways we resolve life problems within technology. Such as history, if you wanted to find the different historical world events that took place years ago, you could do so by putting in a name, date, and place of when it took place. With using technology you can grasp a better understanding on what your history was about without taking a guess or wonder what it would have been like in those times. The steps in problem solving would first be to understand the problem. Should identify the type of question being ask, what the question is asking them to do, and what they already know that can help them solve it more easily. That’s when we bring technology. Problem solving actives on the computer may focus on the simple or complex, depending on what’s being asked. But dealing with technology you are bound to run into issues using software such as system and application which are the two main software's. Now their are two other less talked about groups of software which are Standard and Open-Source. Two good examples of these are Firefox Web Browser and Linux operating system. These software's encourage problem solving at every turn. Software is designed like a new car, through out time their are upgrades and better features therefore you feel the need to upgrade to the newer version. As time moves forward our technology gets more advance and skilled into doing different things such as our games and apps. Finding and selecting quality software and apps is a challenging and interesting task. One best way to identify good software is to recognize what constitutes in a poor software.
 Firefox

So when we go into evaluating computer and video games that are played on a daily base, you can see that it’s manly played for fun without any explicates, learning, or educational goals in mind. Edutainment games use the fun of games as a way to grab the interest in students. These games consist of fighting, shooting, mostly sports or something that competes against another person. On the other had were you have educational games that are the same way but no violent and are used to keep you guessing whats going to be next or how to complete a certain level  without even knowing you have to use your brain to figure it out every step of the way. That’s why students play computer, video, and web games on the regular, but education uses are increasing. I believe this chapter cover a lot on how as teacher should approach students when making lesson plans, to capture their attention with technology and keep it, through the different ways that are brought before use.

This chapter that's very informational about how we live in our world using technology discuss  lot of different topics, when learning how to search the web on different topics and materials that may arise on a daily base. This chapter is educating students  on how to research information and become responsible digital citizens. Digital citizenship is a variety of concept encompassing all aspects  of how to use technology appropriately. Its to direct students to to developing a strong commitment  to digital ethics in the school and over society.

In this day and age of the internet, teachers and students must develop skills to become their own search experts. to fully understand the literary of technology you have to determine the nature and extent on information needed, access the effectively and efficiency, evaluate information and its resources, and understand many of the economic legal and social issues surround the use of information the internet. using the term information literacy , digital literacy, and digital and citizenship. I thought what was the writer trying too tell us in  this chapter about thees different terms of today, when a person has information literate, they must be able to recognize when information is need and has the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the information that was gathered. digital literacy is the ability to locate organize, and analyze information. student must be thought how to use technology the proper way so that its available to answering question that might come about in there daily life's.

this is just to show you how quickly our research in the world has gotten, when it comes down to the different things that can be found on line thorough internet. Its practically second nature to our work force now, dealing with the job industries  with our money dealing with banks and stock holders  and many more other things in life that is not done manually anymore. we all have responsibilities  when it come down to how we use technology . your honesty, trust, and and safety for you and others are all raped up withing the technology system.

Transforming learning with unique, powerful teaching can really really ope up the mind of educator who are and that are becoming teachers. There goal is to create and opportunity for each of there students to think outside the box, when solving different problems using technology that's created for them to learn. The question is ''What is it that you can teach technology, that you cannot teach just as well without?'' (Page Wolf). Well, educators tend to follow three theories: Behaviorism, Cognitivism, and Constructivism. Its basically how your students learn because there are different ways to process information in the brain.
this is not to say that students who are apart of each of theses different learning techniques are not normal but for educators to be able to brain storm and find a way, when teaching a lesson. To get the message across to every student. that way, no student feel left behind. Now they have something called teacher centered and student centered approaches. the difference is teacher centered or they call it transmission teachings a focus on energy of the class room flow teacher to student v.s student where they are actively part of all elements of a class from planning lesson, conducting actives etc.(Ch.3 p.51 line 1-3) A lot  of this new technology makes it easy to communicate and collaborate within the class room.student are drawn to the digital environment. Computers are its on  reliable source. it allow you to create things without being in the class room. technology is just basically to advance your skills and create new knowledge in a way that it could last.

Technology these days is the integral part of our lives & we are totally dependent on it. Technology is a mean of making learning accessible, seamless and integrated. It is a mean of enhancing the learning experience and supports the teacher in filling gaps as they emerge. Education technology is the path to widening participation in education and the path to mobility across learning areas, and teaching institutions.

Technology is a very important part of education now. Even though we are finding some major issues and trends within technology such as, personal uses of electronic devices or the internet connectivity.  This is actually some of the situation that will arise as become and educator using technology.
The promise for change in K-12 schools by integrating technology into instruction heavily relies on a workforce of teachers who can effectively teach with technology. Teacher educators have been exploring effective ways to help preserve teachers integrate technology into instruction. Teachers can use technology to provide powerful learning experiences for students. However, to unlock the power of technology, it is widely recognized that integrating information technology into classrooms requires a change in teaching and learning. Teacher preparation programs play a critical role in reforming schools by supplying technologically competent teachers. In the past few decades, practitioners and researchers have been exploring how to help preserve teachers develop knowledge and skills to use technologies for instruction
Today’s students are highly visual, preferring pictures and video to words and speech. Mixing in visual learning tools increases their engagement, by adding variety to the learning environment.
Equally, when they can choose between several teaching media, such as online videos and interactive reading materials, their engagement and motivation are also boosted.
Today’s students are also social. They love being part of a community, collaborating, sharing and exchanging ideas. Interaction is therefore vital, so you could integrate tools such as Google apps and wikis to involve students in collaborative environments with one another. Equally, instant messaging allows teachers and students to discuss tasks, share ideas and links, and generally work together.
This can also extend beyond your school group.
